My Story
Hello. My name is Julia. And I write.
Stories of all forms, shapes and sizes – in both German and in English.
It all started when I was a kid – comics, video games and movies, movies, movies. I was addicted to it. Still am. And apparently it runs in the family.
While I was a student at the University of Vienna, I quickly found myself working on the sets of various movie productions. I started as a production assistant and felt like Alice in Wonderland – getting to see how all the magic happened.
After graduating with a degree in theater, film and media studies as well as journalism and communications, I finally realized: I wanted to be a screenwriter.
Two weeks later, I was on a plane to Canada and stayed for a year in order to study screenwriting at Vancouver Film School.
Now back in Vienna, I’m known for writing comedy, animation, and children’s stories – but I’m also fluent in drama, especially if it’s got anything to do with uncovering the complex depths of human nature.
I’ve also branched out into writing comics, cross media projects and script consulting.
